What Problems Does
Pipe Relining Solve?

Pipe relining is the ideal solution for pipes that have been damaged over time but are still largely intact. Rather than digging up your property to replace the pipe, we insert a flexible resin-impregnated liner, inflate it against the pipe walls, and cure it in place — forming a smooth, durable new pipe within the old one.

It's particularly effective in these situations:

Tree Root Intrusion
Roots penetrate pipe joints causing blockages and structural damage. Relining seals entry points permanently.
Cracked or Fractured Pipes
Age and ground movement cause cracks that allow water ingress and leaking. The liner bridges and seals all cracks.
Corrosion & Deterioration
Ageing cast iron or clay pipes that are corroding internally but still structurally in place.
Pipes Under Slabs or Driveways
Where excavation would mean breaking expensive concrete — relining avoids all of that.
Recurring Blockages
Persistent blockages caused by pipe deformation or root regrowth — relining creates a smooth bore that resists future issues.
Leaking Pipe Joints
Where pipe sections have separated or joints have failed, relining seals the entire line in one treatment.
Relining vs replacement

Pipe Relining vs
Traditional Replacement

Many people assume pipe replacement is the only option for damaged pipes. Relining is often faster, cheaper and far less disruptive — here's how they compare:

Garden / driveway damageNoneLikely extensive

How Pipe Relining
Works

1
CCTV Pipe Inspection
We insert a high-resolution CCTV camera into your pipe to assess the condition, locate damage and confirm that relining is the appropriate solution. You see exactly what we see.
2
High-Pressure Jet Cleaning
The pipe is thoroughly cleaned using high-pressure water jetting to remove roots, debris and scale, ensuring maximum adhesion for the liner.
3
Liner Installation
A felt liner saturated with epoxy resin is carefully inserted into the pipe and positioned to cover all damaged sections. It's then inflated to press firmly against the pipe walls.
4
Curing
The resin is cured in place using hot water or UV light, hardening into a rigid, smooth new pipe within the existing pipe. This typically takes 1–3 hours depending on pipe diameter.
5
Post-Reline CCTV Inspection
Once cured, we run the camera through again to confirm the liner has adhered correctly and the pipe is fully sealed. The system is then returned to service.

Pipe Relining FAQs

Pipe relining is suitable for pipes that are at least 80% structurally intact. Fully collapsed or severely deformed pipes typically need replacement instead. The only way to know for certain is a CCTV inspection — we carry out this assessment before committing to any solution.
Slightly — the liner wall is typically 4–6mm thick, so there is a small reduction in internal diameter. In practice, because the new liner surface is much smoother than aged, corroded or root-affected pipe, flow rates often improve despite the marginally smaller bore.
Most residential pipe relining jobs are completed in a single day. The CCTV inspection, cleaning, liner installation and curing process typically takes 4–8 hours depending on the length of pipe being relined and pipe diameter. Your plumber will give you a realistic timeframe after the initial assessment.
Yes — sewer pipe relining is one of the most common applications. It's particularly effective for main sewer lines that have tree root intrusion or cracking, as these are often located under driveways, gardens or footpaths where excavation would be very disruptive and expensive.
Epoxy pipe liners are rated for 50 years or more. They are resistant to corrosion, root penetration and chemical attack — and because the finished bore is completely seamless, there are no joints for roots to exploit in the future.
