Sewer Problems We
Diagnose & Repair

Sewer faults rarely fix themselves — and they almost always worsen the longer they're left. These are the most common issues we attend across Adelaide properties:

Tree Root Intrusion
Roots enter through pipe joints, blocking flow and causing structural damage over time.
Sewage Backflow
Sewage backing up into fixtures throughout the property — a sign of a significant sewer blockage.
Collapsed Pipe Sections
Ground movement, age or heavy vehicle loads can cause sewer pipes to crack and collapse inward.
Pipe Belly (Sag)
A dip or low point in the sewer line where solids accumulate and cause recurring blockages.
Cracked or Leaking Lines
Sewer effluent leaking into surrounding soil, causing odours, wet patches and potential contamination.
Grease & Fat Blockages
Accumulated cooking fats hardening in the sewer line — particularly common in older properties and commercial kitchens.
Sewage backflow is a health hazard — act immediately
If sewage is backing up into your home, stop using all water fixtures and call us straight away on 0468 280 017. Avoid contact with sewage water and keep children and pets away from the affected area.
Our approach

Diagnose First,
Then Fix It Right

The biggest mistake in sewer repair is guessing. Without knowing exactly what's wrong and where, repairs can be ineffective or address only a symptom of a deeper problem. Our approach starts with accurate diagnosis.

CCTV pipe inspection. We insert a high-resolution camera into the sewer line to inspect its full length. This shows us the exact location of blockages, root intrusion, cracks, collapses or other faults — so we know precisely what we're dealing with before we recommend a repair method.

High-pressure jetting. For blockages caused by grease, debris or root accumulation, we use high-pressure water jetting to scour the pipe thoroughly. This is far more effective than snaking alone, which only punches a hole through the obstruction.

Pipe relining. Where the sewer pipe has cracks, root entry points or structural weakness, pipe relining is often the best long-term solution. A new liner is installed from the inside — no digging up your garden or driveway required.

Excavation and replacement. For fully collapsed or severely damaged sections where relining isn't viable, we excavate and replace the affected pipe with new materials to current standards.

Our process

How We Handle a
Sewer Repair

1
Emergency Response
Call 0468 280 017 and we'll dispatch a plumber promptly. For sewage backflow situations, we treat these as high-priority emergencies.
2
CCTV Inspection
We run a camera through the sewer line to identify the exact nature and location of the fault. You can see the footage in real time — no guessing, no unnecessary excavation.
3
Upfront Repair Recommendation
Based on what the camera shows, we recommend the most appropriate repair method — jetting, relining or excavation — and provide a fixed upfront price before any work begins.
4
Carry Out the Repair
We complete the approved repair to AS/NZS 3500 standards. Whether that's clearing and relining the sewer line or excavating and replacing a damaged section, we work efficiently to minimise disruption to your property.
5
Post-Repair Verification
After the repair, we re-inspect with the CCTV camera to confirm the line is fully clear and structurally sound. We then restore the system to service and provide you with a full workmanship warranty.
Common questions

Sewer Repair FAQs

Key signs of sewer line damage include: sewage backing up into multiple fixtures, persistent sewage odours inside or outside the property, gurgling sounds from toilets and drains, wet or unusually green patches in your garden above the sewer line, or recurring blockages that keep coming back despite being cleared. A CCTV inspection is the definitive way to confirm the cause.
Not necessarily. For many sewer faults — cracked pipes, tree root intrusion, leaking joints — pipe relining allows us to repair the line from the inside with no excavation at all. We only excavate when the pipe is fully collapsed or in a condition where relining isn't possible. We always explore the no-dig option first.
In South Australia, property owners are generally responsible for the sewer drain from the house to the connection point with SA Water's main sewer. SA Water is responsible for the main sewer line itself. The boundary varies by property — if you're unsure, we can help identify where your responsibility ends and advise accordingly.
Roots are attracted to the moisture and nutrients in sewer lines. They typically enter through small cracks or at pipe joints — even hairline fractures. Once inside, they grow rapidly and can fill the entire pipe bore over months to years. Tree roots can enter pipes from trees well beyond the pipe itself, as root systems extend far from the trunk.
Yes — this is one of the most effective benefits of pipe relining for sewer lines. The epoxy liner creates a completely seamless bore with no joints or cracks for roots to exploit. Once relined, the pipe is effectively root-proof for the liner's lifespan of 50+ years, eliminating the need for repeated root-cutting callouts.
